The first sketches and photoshop designs of an inspired and rambling brain earn themselves a special place in our hearts. It is here, in their most raw form, that we can call back to our original ideals and remember that fresh feeling of what we hoped to one day achieve, even if we had to drag the event, kicking and screaming, across the finish line.
We have tried to keep these images as pure as possible, not letting things like impossibility get in our way. This is us at our most childlike, dreaming up new angels and monsters to populate the worlds we were creating for people to play in and forget...or remember.
We hope to upload more of these soon. Check back with us to see more of our Twisted Children in their conception.
PRE-ANONYMITY BALL
When the idea of a Masquerade Ball started rolling around in our brains, musing over images that would impart to people the feeling we hoped they would get in anticipation was a lot of our fun and helped us to shape Anonymity and soon, Slave as we know it today. Here are a few of our work samples before we ever got off the ground.
MASQUE DEI MORTIS
Initial Character design sketches for our most epic undertaking, Masque Dei Mortis. Almost all of these were very successful in our final machinations and continue on to this day. The SoTM veterans of our crew adore pulling these costumes out every year, taking a deep breath of their incense and fire pit laden scent and telling each other, "You smell that? It smells like Masque." |
