What is Slave of the Muse?
We are predominantly a promotional group with a heavy artistic/performance nature to create unique events in the Southern Nevada area.
Not limiting ourselves to simply promotions, we have fire and stage performers, artists, video artists, DJ's, music composers and writers in our group. We do other projects in the display/performance arts. A collective of minds that wish to leave a perception changing impression on anyone who sees our works.
How long has Slave of the Muse been operating?

We have been operating under the spiral banner since 2008 when we began to create our first event, The Anonymity Ball.
What is with the the spiral?
Our icon is a spiral. Sometimes jagged, sometimes smooth. It is a representation of experience. As we learn things it pulls us higher but in a way where we find ourselves in similar positions. Slightly higher and further over. It is progression when viewed in that regard. One the other hand in is also a whirlpool of ideas that drag one’s mind further into bleaker states of mind. It is creative, simple and fits us well.
We are from all walks of life, all manners of spirituality, joined in the combined passion of changing perceptions for the better and inspiring adults to look at the world as children.
What are Merik Badges?
So, you found the Merik Badges on the crew page eh? As the build crew for The Muse were putting in 40 to 80 hours a week creating, Anthony Jones, one of the main builders, started talking about the skills we had to learn and the ones we already had like Merit Badges. Most were a joke, wrapped in some reality of what trials we had been through as a crew. Not wanting to copyright infringe on anyone, we thought we would name them after the First 'character host' of a SotM event - 'Merik the Mad'.
Since then, it has become a staple of inner crew humor and testament to the strangeness that surrounds what we do.
We are always as safe as we can be as a crew, ensuring the safety of ourselves and our patrons. Sometimes this puts us in peril, sometimes the badges are awarded simply as testament to personal trials of what we do. Like a card game with stats listed on the bottom... Yeah we are a little geeky sometimes.
What is the future of Slave of the Muse?
We love to keep this answer a little mutable to allow SoTM the freedom to change at will, keeping inspiration high and free-flowing. We plan on keeping to our annual masquerade ball, Anonymity, creating a bigger and more engaging experience each time. Promotions and events that engage the masses are the backbone of what we create.
Other interests we intend to pursue include taking certain acts on the road to other cities, throwing events to raise funds for select charities we believe in, small graphic novels with our Phoenix brethren, Chop Shop Comics, comprised of the stories we have created, publish collections of art/writing of SoTM Crew and some of our faithful followers. While we cannot tell which direction we will ultimately veer with each passing year, we hope to continue to create—following our collective and individual Muses and sharing the fruits of our inspiration with the world.
Will SoTM ever open another venue?
This is perhaps one of the most asked, and most double edged question we receive. While we enjoyed our time facilitating the Muse, we are hard pressed to consider something as solid as another club. It was a lot of pain and exhaustion for a payoff we never could have dreamed, and our past patrons of that beautiful blue box are love the tireless crew to this day. At the same notion, we found that our big events suffered from the lack of time we could devote to them due to the overwhelming needs of a physical venue.
